Something to Groove To

My friend shared with me the other day the John Butler Trio song "Groovin' Slowly". It has a great relaxed feel, and it has a ukulele. So, what's not to like? I haven't gotten a chance to listen to much more of JTB's music, but it so far I like it.

35mm shots

Here is a link to my flickr page. It has some pictures on it already. I have been using my dad's Minolta X-700.

Fun.

Fun. is a indie rock band from the big apple. I haven't listened to them that much yet, but so far I like them quite a bit. Here is a song of theirs I really like:

Joe Pug

Joe Pug is a relatively unknown acoustic musician from Chicago. He has released 2 EP's, both spectacular.

The Tallest Man On Earth

From Sweden comes Kristian Matsson, The Tallest Man on Earth. He is probably my favorite modern folk artist. With a sound much like Bob Dylan, he is gaining more and more popularity in America.

Streetlight

Not many people know who Streetlight Manifesto is. However, if they do know who they are, they usually love them.

Streetlight Manifesto is one of the multiple projects of Thomas Kalnoky (other projects being The Bandits of the Acousitc Revolution and Catch 22). They are my favorite ska band. Upbeat music with meaningful lyrics, what's not to love? A lot of people think that Thomas's voice is annoying at first, I sort of did too, but you learn to love it.

They currently have 4 albums out. 1 of them being a cover album.

Here is one of my favorite song's of theirs.

Mumford & Sons

Most people have heard of Mumford and Sons by now. They are very popular in the UK and have been becoming more popular in the U.S. This is my favorite song of theirs. The video is a great raw session of it. Only having one album out, I hope they come out with another soon.

Krazy on the Keyboard

Ronald Jenkees is a phenomenal keyboardist that my friend showed me the other day. He really has an ear for music. This is a song from his second album and my favorite of his.
